Mik Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Healthy, delicious dining with malunggay leaveshttp://www.manilatimes.net/national/2009/j...090603lif1.html"... The malunggay, known to the rest of the world as the moringa leaf, is so full of nutrients and vitamins that an ounce of it in its powdered form is more potent than a multivitamin capsule." photos from: http://www.stuartxchange.com/Malunggay.html
ancienrocka Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 And I thought it was just an "old wives" tale.We eat them 2-3 times a week - and after being given them mashed up raw to cure a cold and swearing never to eat them again, have grown to love them in soups, stews, etc.I won't eat them again now I know they are good for me!!!paul
Mik Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Malunggay is really easy to grow. Just get a cutting from your neighbor (with permission). Cut off a branch and trim off the side branches and the top so you have about a 4 foot stick. Make a hole and plant it a foot deep in the ground. Keep it watered and it will grow. It's pretty amazing that a stick will grow. I keep my Malunggay trees short like bushes. I just cut the fresh growth off the top.
tom_shor Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I've had it before. I think it was in sinigang. Sory about the spelling.
