If they can do it in Texas, maybe they can do it in the Philippines. :) Could this be a way to help the economy of the Philippines? :89:  A pole tax for new roads and food to feed the poor. :D Impose a door tax and allow nude dancing, a win win situation. :D We all like to look. :867: AUSTIN, Texas — A $5 entrance fee to Texas strip clubs is constitutional and not an improper restriction on nude dancing, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday. Lower courts had called the so-called "pole tax" an improper burden on the free expression of nude dancing and a violation of the First Amendment. The fee has been imposed on clubs that allow nude dancing and serve alcohol since 2007 to raise money for sexual assault prevention programs and health care for the uninsured.

Hmmm, health care for the uninsured. Kind of sounds like the tobacco taxes going to fund child daycare programs and who knows what else. Be interesting to see if the money's collected actually go towards the laws intended purpose.

It says 2007 so I guess there is some records out there as to where the money goes.

Texas has been "collecting" a fee on peoples electric bills for several years.(to help the lower income.disabled to pay on "high" electric bills)the amount thats been collected is "HUGE" During the last state budget session, this "collected" money was diverted to help "balance/fund" the state.money that was intended for a "group" of people was used for other purposes, Do you think that this "POLE :540: TAX" will be used for the original intentions? Yes this is a"good tax"the beneficiaries of this would be greatly helped,BUT will the Texas elected officials keep true to the intent? :bash:
