It is more about why so many people died, rather than just a report about people die due to a big storm. Anybody that would like to know what is wrong with the Philippines should read and think about this. It is the same old story, cheaper to let people die and pocket the money, than fix problems and spend the money on what it was intended for. No, in todays world and the recent trend of even people in 3rd world countries can change what is happening with their governments. The way that information is shared and exposed (internet), it is my guess that the Philippines will gradually improve or a major peoples revolt will eventually occur. Look at different parts of the world in which major changes are taking place. There has never been more power to the people than there is right now. At least from what I have seen in my life time.Will you or I really make a big difference, not much of a chance in that. Mr Lee Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I have found that govt officials and the news people read forums, so as long as we complain in the right way that brings up issues and how they might be fixed, then sometimes the news or govt official will run with it as if it was their idea. I have had a few things I posted picked up and run with, one was when I posted long ago about making the Philippines the shopping Mecca of Asia and not long after the govt and the news used my exact words, coincidence, maybe but not long after they picked up another thing I posted and then later on a few others, so I am sure they have done the same thing with things others post when they think it is a good idea. Lets face it, they watch what we say and do. Another example is complaints about burning garbage people have made on forums, and then some areas developed garbage pick up that did not have that before, so are they listening or mysteriously thinking of the same issues themselves. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
