johnrxx99 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) Ah, so it wasn't Wall Street that packaged junk debt and gave it a AAA ratings and then sold it to the rest of the world. It was the Europeans and United Nations. It wasn't America that created the greatest debt per capita the world has seen.Glad you cleared that up Mike. This gives the facts- - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subprime_mortgage_crisis Edited January 31, 2009 by johnrxx99

Mr Lee Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 As more and more people lose their shirts in this mess, more people are bound to blame the United States for the mess they got themselves in........ It was not the United States that did these things, it was greedy men who just happen to live in the United States and the majority of people who are from the United States have also lost their shirts in this mess........ So people from other countries picking on Americans for their problems, should look at themselves first....... Let the buyer beware. No one forced anyone to end up as they have, and we are all guilty of our own greed IMO.

I may not have been able to afford all that Chinese crap I bought in the past 5-10 years if it weren't for countries like the UK. I'm sorry to hear that Sterling is in the crapper and the UK is on the verge of bankruptcy, but sacrifices had to be made in order to keep me fat, dumb, and happy. You're the same guy that once stated that many of the UKs former colonies would have been much better off if they'd only had the benefit of a longer period of British rule. I guess the US got out from under the yoke before it learned the beauty of a nil-nil tie and binge drinking, but look on the positive side, British rule lasted long enough for the US to learn how to exploit other nations for it's own gain, so it's not a complete loss. Mike S Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I just had a thought (new for me) ...... I wonder what King Arthur and his knights of the round table (which was a myth by the way) talked about sitting around in merry old England drinking ale and squeezing the wenches ....... I'll bet it was "cheerio-chap ..... I say ..I just can't wait until those rotters the Americans are invented so we can blame them for all this political up evil and castle burning ....... lets spank the lot ... as we don't believe in violence .... hey Lance-o-lot pass me another grog of ale as me thinks my throat is parched) ........ ........ sorry couldn't resist ..... and yes I know the greedy deregulated US banks did start all this crap .... and we can't say we didn't know it was going to happen ..... you can't loan money to people and business that don't have the means or ways to pay it back ..... flooding the public with unsolicited credit cards and giving homes to people with no jobs because it is the American Dream to have your own home ..... it is a road to disaster ... that we are traveling on now ....... so who is to blame????? ......... lets start with bank deregulation ...... Mr Lee Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 A lot of people have been blaming Bush for the mess the US and the world is in, when in fact he tried to fix it way before it happened. Yes the Democrats are also Americans but when the government just does not work, what is the average person to do. This video shows that George Bush tried to warn Congress in 2002 that this economic crisis was coming, if something was not done. But congress refused to listen, along with Barney Frank. This video says it all. Also that the liberal AMERICAN media did not want this video on You Tube, so they had Time Warner threaten a law suit (proprietary rights) if it was not taken off. This link is of the same video but is routed through Canada . While I am not a Bush supporter, I feel that everyone with any brains should have been watching what was going on, because it was on CNN and right out in the open, and again I say, let the buyer beware. It is really easy for everyone to cry and say that the US got them into the mess they are in, but no one forced anyone to invest in the USA. They did that all on their own out of greed. I pulled out of the market quite a while back because I could see the writing on the walls, and I am not educated in economics, what excuse do all those other people have.
