SC allows GMA travel This is a long article so click the link if you want to view it. This thread is my point of view on the subject. Most people who followed the administration of former president GMA would have no problem accepting that there was corruption during her administration. Big surprise. Now there is a lot of noise going on about charging her for illegal activities and in the middle of it all she has to leave the country 'for medical reasons'. 1. Supporters are saying she has not been convicted of anything so she is free to travel. I say: Try that when you are a foreigner and see what freedoms you get. 2. Supporters are saying she cannot get the medical treatment she needs in the Philippines. I say: What about the rest of us. Are we doomed because the medical treatment in the Philippines is inadequate? 3. Supporters say she is sure to return because she has posted a 2 million peso cash bond. I say: :)

She will be too ill to return. Everyone will save face and not go to jail.

2 million pesos for a bond? HUGE amount for a taxi driver... not so much for someone accused of taking millions of USD worth of pesos. I am guessing there will be some behind-the-scenes talk about returning monies / land and then a get-out-of-jail card will be given for some medical reason. Question..... since Marcos left office has there even been a president that was not accused of some form of miss use of office / funds once they left office?
