Mr Lee Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 In a country full of beautiful women :) MANILA, Philippines - A Belgian man allegedly jumped from his 12th floor room at a Makati City hotel Wednesday afternoon after his girlfriend rejected his marriage proposal, police said yesterday.Police said security guards at the Makati Palace Hotel heard a loud thud along P. Burgos street and found Marrion Thiery Maurice, 31, sprawled on the pavement at around 1:30 p.m.A Makati rescue team rushed Maurice to the nearby Ospital ng Makati but he died while being treated for head and body injuries. Police said the victim left a suicide note that narrated how his offer of marriage to his Filipina girlfriend was allegedly rejected. Police did not reveal the identity of the woman. Bruce Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I am familiar with the place. Very tall building, maybe 30 stories high with some big penthouse units. Right in the middle of GRO paradise. Large number of expats living or extended stay there and a couple of other nearby buildings. Most are condo / hotels with a lot of private ownership. Couple of very good Italian resturants on the back side of the block. Very central location. There is a new place 1 block in the other direction called St Guiles. Rooms start at 3800p or so and are very nice. Most of the other hotels along Burgos St are older and as usual have water damage and mildew / bug issues.
