During her administration, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo promoted medical tourism. She claimed that the Philippines has world-class facilities and some of the best doctors. Now, her tune has changed claiming no one in the Philippines is competent to treat her medical condition. This is just soap opera by a drama queen.

She may well be guilty of "many crimes", that will be determined by a court of law in their country, however, under their system she has the presumption of innocence until that time. The phrase "the people get the government they deserve" comes to mind.

Since she is the one that appointed most of the Supreme court and they will always have the final say in any legal matters, then I doubt that even if she is guilty, much, if anything will happen to her. The supreme court had already ruled and ordered the government to let her leave the country. The government then had to hurry and get her charged with something in order to keep her form leaving. I don't see any supreme court ruling going against her.

I have not watched the SOAP OPERA unfold. BUT I have AN IMPORTANT item i have noticed..family is important? correct? if mama or daddy is "deathly" ILL the children would be there at the bedside ..Correct??WHERE IS HER SON? oh he flew off to a USA fund raiser or business function.. correct?? WHERE is HER DAUGHTER? the extended clan?IF your family member is on DEATHS DOOR STEP, I reckon you would be there to give/offer your last goodbyes.and possibly with your hand out .(ha ha)AGAIN i am certain AFTER watching other SOAP OPERAS being played out here in the RP she will be cured/healed after 1."prayers" have been answered(cough... Supreme court not the Supremes singing group)2. a misdiagnoses, 3. has a good Bowel movement 4. the media feeding frenzy is over5. her charges are dropped,on compassionate grounds, due to being "NEAR DEATH"bear with me on this last item.. in other parts of the world, when a elected official is near death or gravely sick,don't they usually resign,so that another proteage will carry on their "legacy"

This will make it three or four in a row. 1. Thailand's coup back in 2006 forced their president out of the country (rightly or wrongly).2. South Korea's new President, Lee Myung-bak had former President, Noh Moo-hyun being investigated before Noh jumped off a mountain to his death.3. Taiwan's last President, Chen Shui-bian, is currently in jail serving an increasingly lenghty prison sentence for corruption charges.4. Now it's Gloria's turn. Being President isn't the lucrative job it used to be in Asia. Sure you get rich quick while in office, but once out, it's the slammers. I wonder if Lee Myung-bak, Ma Ying-jeou, or Noynoy Aquino will be next when they're succeeded in the future? In the case of Noh, Chen, and Arroyo, the spouse was the main culprit in the investigations. Noh was considered a great man, even after his death, and it was his wife who was stealing money. To Noh's credit, Lee had a tax evasion case against him dropped upon becoming President because there was no one else challenging him for the job. Chen seems in the end to have been a real slimey guy, but it was also his bitter wife who had a local reputation for bullying people, and even "borrowing" jewelery off friends and never returning it. And as serious as Arroyo's election rigging charges are, it's her husband who got caught selling second hand choppers to the police (or military) at inflated prices. Maybe Noynoy will get away scot free after all, since he's STILL SINGLE! Damn spouses are trouble.
