ISSUED AT : 5:00 AM 17 DECEMBER 2011VALID BEGINNING : 5:00 AM TODAY UNTIL 5:00 AM TOMORROWSYNOPSIS: AT 4:00 AM TODAY, TROPICAL STORM “SENDONG” WAS ESTIMATED BASED ON SATELLITE AND SURFACEDATA AT 20 KM WEST NORTHWEST OF CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (8.4°N,124.4°E) WITH MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS OF 65KPH NEAR THE CENTER AND GUSTINESS UP TO 80 KPH. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST AT 22 KPH.FORECAST: THE NORTHWESTERN SECTION OF MINDANAO WILL EXPERIENCE STORMY WEATHER WHILE CENTRAL VISAYASPALAWAN, CAMIGUIN ISLAND, MISAMIS ORIENTAL, BUKIDNON, NORTH COTABATO AND MAGUINDANAO WILL HAVE RAINS WITHGUSTY WINDS. THE REST OF VISAYAS WILL BE CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED TO WIDESPREAD RAINSHOWERS ANDTHUNDERSTORMS WHICH MAY TRIGGER FLASHFLOODS AND LANDSLIDES. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL HAVE MOSTLYCLOUDY SKIES WITH SCATTERED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.MODERATE TO STRONG WINDS BLOWING FROM THE NORTHEAST WILL PREVAIL OVER LUZON ANDCOMING FROM THE SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST OVER THE REST OF VISAYAS AND MINDANAO.
