daisy Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 Expats' Ladies Charities, Inc. The beginning..! While watching our hubbies having a good time with their fellow Expats, we the ladies came up with a proposal creating the CDO Expats Charities, Inc. Our main objective is to be able to extend help to our less fortunate children in Cagayan de Oro City and nearby. We realized that some of our fellow Filipinos are not as lucky as we are. There are lots of couples and parents out-there trying to a make both ends meet. There are even parents giving up some of their meals just for the sake of putting up their children to schools in secondary education. It is so sad indeed and we are just here sitting around with food and music around us. We gonna do something to make a difference and in our own little way, we will start to discover the real purpose, why we are where we are now, Expats wives and (SOs)significant others. We then decide to form the CDO Expats Scholarship Program. When this project was wrapped up, and yes we easily wrapped it up, we got 5 scholarship budget from the CDO Expats Community and 5 also from our friends in various forums whose members are in one way or another felt that the needs of these children. We are so blessed, we are supported by other x different Philippines related forums, the, Welcome to the Philippines.com . All of these forum owners promised to help us build our own website in the future! At the moment, our official website, is the welcome to the Philippines.com. Later, this year, we came up with Christmas Day on December 28 at Landfill, one of our city s depressed areas. We have it tagged as CDO Expats Community Christmas Day with Children. We were able to feed 200 children . Then there was the flood occurring in the city and again, the expats ladies, get involved! In all our projects, we received supports not only from Expats here in CDO but all over the country or the soon to be expatriates. We also have members coming from Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon. It is in this note that in our meeting last January, we finally decided to change our name, thus we are now, Expats Ladies Charities, Inc. This is our Vision: The Expats Ladies Charities, Inc reaches out to improve the lives of our less fortunate fellowmen. We desire to see the day where all Expats Ladies in the country will be molded as a woman of value and integrity. Our commitments: Our commitments define who we are and how we accomplish our goals. These will set the direction of our works and lead us forward towards the fulfillment of these goals; which are: 1. High School Scholarship Program 2. Sharing special days with deprived children in the community. 3. To equip all members with the basic knowledge on issues concerning their lives as Expats' wives or SO'sCHEERS!
