tom_shor Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I am glad they caught him. Hope they hold him in a really skanky jail. What always makes me wonder is why he had a passport after he was convicted and served time.

What always makes me wonder is why he had a passport after he was convicted and served time.I'm not 100% sure but I think every one has a right to a passport even if they have served time, its then up to the country that he is traveling to whether they grant him entry. I do not know if he completed his sentence or not by the article.
Forum Support Old55 Posted February 20, 2009 Forum Support Posted February 20, 2009 So he served his time in the US over 12 years ago, but is now evading charges from Korea.
Mr Lee Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 So he served his time in the US over 12 years ago, but is now evading charges from Korea. But it did not say that he finished his probation before going to Korea for 12 year and if he did not, I wonder why the US did not do anything before now. Seems like Asia is unfortunately a play land for pedophiles, draws them like flies.
Mr Lee Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 Here is some more about him. I guess he served his time and had the conviction expunged. http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/natio.../117_38476.html

tom_shor Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 If everything was complete then why is the US government looking for him? He was in Korea 12 years which means he had to renew his passport at least once why didn't they get him then? If Korea won't extradite him just refuse to renew his passport and they will throw him out. Very strange goings on.
