Forum Support Old55 Posted February 18, 2012 Forum Support Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks guys so now we know the topic answer! :attention: The reason there are no mobile, modular or few container type homes in Philippines is because of the rice drying along one lane of a 1 1/2 lane road and the many street vendors encroaching every major streeet.

Art2ro Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) You won't see any mobile/portable homes in the Philippines, but you will see them over or under the bridges and in the water! http://www.demotix.c...r-citys-bridges Edited February 18, 2012 by Art2ro
Okieboy Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 a hollow block in its self is not very strong but fill it with cement and rebar than try and send your hand thru it, it is actually a form for the cement, add cement on both sides and it is really not a bad form of construction, they have been here a long time, with beams four feet in ground with a 3x3 foot and colums around the outside and a center beam they will take about all you can expect, granted a solid cement wall is stronger with the proper rebar.
bigfil Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Hi guys .. still pretty new here but loving the posts.Seriously looking into modular / timber frame buildings for a project I've been asked to join. On the way i'm hoping to develop a personal home as well. There's almost too much info on the web but still quite inspiring never the less. IF you get chance try and download "grand designs" ( torrents on www.kat.ph) Its a Uk TV show but a great way to see the different building methods and styles.Cheers
