Forum Support Old55 Posted February 20, 2012 Forum Support Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) Studies have found our first impression is the last impression. Tourist arriving an airport after a long tiring flight often first use a comfort room one of the many things lacking in Philippines. Why can they not get even the simple things right! The last time we arrived it CEB there was two inches of water in the men’s room my son was forced to use the ladies room.I don't want this to turn into a "why I hate Philippines" rant. There are so many simple things that could be done at little or no cost. Edited February 20, 2012 by Old55
Dave Hounddriver Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 The last time we arrived it CEB there was two inches of water in the men’s room But I bet there was tissue. Why do I say that? My wife is finally accepting the idea of using tissue instead of, or in addition to Tabo Tabo Tabo is a water dipper used in the Philippines as alternative to the toilet paper. It is an essential part of the daily lives of Filipinos, especially during their “hard” times in the bathroom. Tabo is usually paired with a timba (large pail) to store water for bathing. Those who are not familiar using tabo, especially other foreign nationals, find it amusing. They can only imagine using toilet paper to clean their bottoms. As for many Filipinos, I bet it’s the reverse – it’s difficult not to have the handy tabo by our side when nature calls. So why do Filipinos use tabo? Because for us it is more hygienic rather than using toilet paper. It is also part of our culture. It is a practice that we were taught to do when were kids and has been part of our daily routine. Even when migrating to a foreign land, we bring it with us or improvise on things we can use as alternative to a tabo. I am now accepting the idea of using the toilet plunger after every time she uses the CR. So I bet there was tissue in the CEB CR and people were going overboard with its use until the darn toilet was plugged up and water ran all over the floor. Call me bubba Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I don't want this to turn into a "why I hate Philippines" rant. There are so many simple things that could be done at little or no cost. I will not rant either. What I have seen .observed over the years is this..SIR YOU SEEM TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO IS COMPLAININGwell I maybe the only 1 who is complaining BUT others have the same problem/issue.Could it be greed of these firms? lack of true customer service? Or they have their heads so far up their ANAL CAVITY ,They have lost touch with reality ? with the customer service standards in which most firms do try to provide? I have kept my "rant" post as clean as possible,I will in a future topic. It will have where you can post your "complaints" or questions.in turn I will share them with a travel editor I have meet so he can "be aware" of the problems we face. Forum Support Old55 Posted February 20, 2012 Author Forum Support Posted February 20, 2012 It's all good Bubba. It's not that simple and often the root cause is beyond the grasp of those involved.Take the men’s room. Perhaps the floor drain was blocked. A plumber and materials costs money and there is no money for maintenance. Why is there never money for maintenance in Philippines?

Bruce Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Statistically, for every complaint... there are (x) number of similar complaints that remain in other people heads instead of acting on the complaint process. The above post is not isolated with in the Philippines... I have found that, as a nurse in Kanoland, foreign nurses (Philippine nurses are better attitude wise) often come from Jamaica, or some african country. They arrive with NO sence of urgency in their care delivered except for a true emergency.... 'Oh... that can wait' is the typical attitude BECAUSE it was the way they were raised and introduced into the work force.Water on the floor is no big deal to 'them' so they really think we are a nation of whiners because 'we' expect more.I once worked with a nurse from South Afriica who tells of a story of a Zulu tribesman sitting in a chair in the ER, quietly waiting for HIS TURN.... and an AX was buried in his head....... Try that in the US!
