As I sit here crying, I feel such sympathy for the boy it's unreal. I've tried and failed at the so called blended families and the tensions can run high for sure. Whatever made this boy go to such extremes will hopefully come out in court. IF he is just a bad egg, then so be it. But somehow I don't think it's all him. There was something that triggered it. Maybe the father paid no attention to him because of his new family and the boy just lost it. Damn. Maybe the woman was was a witch to the stepson, seen it before? I hate this type of crap. Tension or not no one who is in his right mind does that. I've done the blended family thing myself there is a lot of stress but that is not a reason to do that. It was cold blooded and calculated. I think a big failure in our society is many parents and schools seem to fail to teach young people what is and is not acceptable behavior. This is indeed a tragedy. How many lives have been ruined because of this.

I think too many parents have to work nowadays to support their higher than they can afford lifestyles, and there is less child supervision. I do not know if that was the case in this instance but I have seen it all too often and it usually leads to kids gone wild. This was very sad, but it seems like it is becoming common place with kids shooting up schools, planning school bombings and the like, and luckily often getting caught before they can do it. Kids from regular families are having a hard time, but kids from broken families are having the hardest time adjusting IMO, and unfortunately those are facts of life nowadays and someone just has to find a way to combat those problems before they lead to things like this.
