Art2ro Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 http://ph.news.yahoo...-111807533.htmlBy Nikka GarrigaCLARK FREEPORT, PAMPANGA—Budget carrier PhilippinesAirAsia plans to draw more tourist traffic in the country as it officially starts operations here.With its main hub based at the Clark International Airport, the company will begin servicing two direct flights daily from Clark toDavao and Kalibo kicking-off with a zero-fare promotion.“We decided to start with Davao and Kalibo because of its proximity to other tourist spots in Visayas and Mindanao, which is most convenient for tourists who wish to explore more of our islands,” said AirAsia chief executive officer Marianne Hontiveros.The Malaysian-based airline also aims to create a thriving sub-economy here with its well-established hotels, resorts and casinos.Travelers can now avail of the P275 one-way seat sale that's all inclusive of fuel surcharge, processing fee and government mandated fees such as aviation security fee and value-added tax.“This is to show our guests what they are actually paying for and not disappoint them with hidden charges or misleading promotions,” she explained.The promo is available online at www.airasia.com until March 4. Travel is from March 28 to January 31 next year.Its online travel portal AirAsiaGo will also be offering hotel packages from P1, 649 for a 4D/3N stays with return flight in both destinations.“We target to stimulate and gain more interest from both local and foreign tourists to experience thePhilippines without spending so much for quality services”.
