It amazes me that first world people think that the Philippines needs to control their population while first world governments pay their own citizens to have children. Of course I cannot know what other first world governments do but check out the Child assistance program that one Canadian province has.

Here is the opposing view to this topic. What happens when 'family planning' appears to work?In Canada, in 2006, 1/5 of all Canadians were direct immigrants. That is they were not born in Canada. The population of immigrants is growing at about 1/4 million new ones a year. 'Old school' Canadians do family planning so the immigrant population is growing 4 times as fast as the Canadian born population. Only about 20% of these immigrants are from other first world countries.Try your own research and do your own math and then figure out how long before the voting age citizens coming from 3rd world countries have the majority of votes. Then try to convince yourself what a good deal family planning was in your country. Two of my sources are below but there is lots more info you will need to search for.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2011/2011-02-13.asphttp://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7128172.stm

We can take Bradford (Yorkshire) & Haringey (London) as prime Examples, Followed by Brent (North London) as a close Third. Good Point and well said. :chickendance: I can only speak of the UK at this time.Jack P.

What about a payment after receiving a free vasectomy or tubal ligation?
To answer your question this actually just happened here in Cebu and in Manila. http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/132723/group-to-hold-vasectomy-mission While reading the link provided it does not state their is a financial incentive but I can share with you first hand because I was one of the few foreigners to partake that every person their was given P1000 after the surgery. I was rather surprised as well was others because this was something I needed and it was already free plus they provide free follow up in case of any complications and also have your sperm tested in 2 months.I was advised that it was slow on the first day but on the 2nd day of the clinic it was much busier. I was there on the 2nd day and I believe it was much busier the 2nd day because Filipino's were telling their friends about the cash incentives. Actually there were many 18 and 19 year old's they turned away because they felt they were to young to make this decision although some of them had many children already.I talked to the doctors and although this was a little controversial they stated this to give back. When I say they it was a Filipino doctor they created this new easy type surgery and has performed over 25,000 in the US. There were many volunteer doctors from many different countries that gave their time to help.
