Forum Support Old55 Posted March 22, 2012 Forum Support Posted March 22, 2012 The US Asian population grew faster than any other racial or ethnic group over the last decade, surging almost 46% between 2000 and 2010, says a new Census Bureau report. The rising Asian population was propelled mainly by immigration, with newcomers arriving from across the Asian Pacific region and Indian subcontinent, census officials said Wednesday.Among national groups, Chinese Americans were the largest, with more than 4 million who identified as Chinese alone or with another race. They were followed by Filipinos, with 3.4 million. It's good to know I've done my part. :thumbsup:http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-0322-asian-census-20120322,0,2466148.story
retired Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 A bit surprised as i would have thought the Latino/Spanish population would have been greater but maybe it's based on " legal immigration " ?
