johnb Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Hi Lee, here's a site that gives quite a lot of information on the legal requirements of owning a firearm in the Philippines, if you look over the whole site there is some good information, I would also imagine that they may be the right people to ask regarding your initial question on bringing in firearms from overseas, I'm sure that some of there members must have considered it........http://www.pbdionisio.com/license.htmlJohn

johnb Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) Just thought I'd cover a few posts in one, someone asked a while ago are tasers available in the Philippines and if so, is a license required?, I said that I would inquire about a license when my wife renewed her firearms license. well we asked but didn't receive any true answer just some shoulder shrugging and pursed bottom lip......For the renewal of a firearm license, a new license should be applied for 30 days before the original one expires , the named license holder will need to produce a residents certificate, two passport size Photo's, a photocopy of your existing license a renewal application form and 4,612 php. we were advised to renew the license in the gun store that we originally purchased the weapon, It seems that different weapons attract different licensing fee's so make your own inquiries if you intend purchasing a Charlie g or Gpmg. [licenses are valid for two year]I'll also include an old link, but quite informative regarding REQUIREMENTS FOR FIREARM LICENSING http://www.pbdionisio.com/license.htmland finally thank you lee for your Birthday greeting, just saw the post today, I have now reached my 50's [at least physically]John Edited May 26, 2009 by johnb
