Mike S Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 (edited) As usual here in the Phils there are a lot of conflicting accounts even in the news story itself ..... one good thing is that a close family friend is a PNP Supt. so that might help a little ..... the report by the family of him not having any enemies is so suspects won't take a powder .... time will tell ..... http://www.sunstar.c...p-robbed-220523 Edited May 9, 2012 by Mike S
cebu rocks Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Man i ride that road all the time and have a couple friends who live up top so they travel it lots . I often ride the backroads and remote locations and feel very safe I may have to revisit this Idea . these guys just set up shop on the road and robbed anyone who came by for at least 15 minutes even after they robbed a cop . i am bob Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I can't believe that they are going to do a "Paraffin" GSR test after all this time and still not until the next day! Just washing your hands will change the results if they are doing strictly the old fashioned method of Paraffin testing. And then washing your hands or clothes will sometimes even give you a false positive for the test... The only time a GSR test should be carried out is simply ASAP! Anything else throws too many variables in to prove much of anything...

Same here this is up near where my asawa is from, a reminder to not get too comfortable I guess... as with anyplace, due diligence is required. Dzighnman Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Anything else throws too many variables in to prove much of anything.. Sadly, if there is an effort underway to cover anything up... your description is exactly what the conspirators are depending on... "See? No residue!" Now they have a record that defends their officer. Seems they want to get the results out fast, but not fast enough for them to be accurate. They count on people not knowing the technicalities of how the testing works... only that they did the test... even if done incorectly or to far past the incident to be accurate... those details are not important. OR Am I laying out a conspiracy theory that may lend more credible thought than they are capable of? It is so hard to watch these events unfold, over and over, like a "B" movie where you know the ending and the plot... and when it affects someone closer to you as in this case, a loved one of "one of our own"....it incites alot of rage. Does anyone know... are there really any legitamate training schools in the Philippines for police work, investigative techniques, forensic science??? Aside from the obvious of not having funding for the tools, would they even know how to use these tools if they had the funds? Sorry if this seems to be a hijack... we can split if that is the perception, but I find I am always wondering about how, and if, any real police work is accomplished in this country.

Steve & Myrlita Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Justice in this country is not whether you're innocent or guilty but who has the most money to bribe the right people.
FlyAway Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Supposedly all guns in the Philippines, legal of course, are subjected to ballistics testing and recording. So that would mean a legally issued police firearm should have a ballistics report on file?
