let me say a few words from an outsider looking in and im sure the other Canadians on this forum can relate to what im saying !!!

Yes having all medical bills paid for is an advantage but at what cost ??? why is someone who has kidney stones have to wait 6 months to have them blasted when this should be done in a matter of days if not weeks ie ( my father ) , is it better to have free health care and to wait into the hospital for 3-6 hours just to get looked at !! just because its free !!! there's a difference between quality care and what others definition of quality care is !!! ie the GOVERNMENTS view ( IM NOT TRYING TO BE POLITICAL BUT its hard not to be when i read these things IM SORRY EVERYONE )

trust me im grateful to have what we have here but but again i go back to what i said earlier AT WHAT COST ??? when a Bureaucrat can decide whats write for you instead of you and your Doctor deciding the right action to take for your health , i mean doctors and most if not all took a Hippocratic oath and in the old days they were supposed to donate 1/3 of the time or practice to the poor now a days with the exception of a few ( name Bruce ) there really isn't many doing that anymore !!

Trust ME SOCIALIST HEALTH Care IS NOT A OPTION MY AMERICAN BROTHERS SHOULD EXCEPT again if it was between you and your Doctor WITHOUT THE Bureaucratic Bs that would come with it then i say YES it would be great !!! But i can bet you you right now what will happen at the hospitals you will start to see longer and longer lines to get treated , you will see people with minor cuts and the such blocking a person who has cancer just because its cheaper to treat a cut then cancer , health care is NO LONGER ABOUT TREATMENT ITS A BUSINESS and when you get Bureaucrat's involved all i can say is look OUT !!!

Again to all Forum Members im sorry if i offended anyone especially my fellow country men , im sorry if i went off topic , it wasn't my intention , its just a core value of mine that we all get proper health care !!!

Well I for one will not have a problem proving my residency here in the Phils as I have a permanent resident status ...... (13a) .... but I also maintain a US address and several bank accounts ..... I also will no longer have to file income tax as of last year ...... so I'm not sure just where I will fit in .... we do carry PhilHealth but I'm not sure the US will except it as a valid insurance carrier ......

O-U-C .... I too am not a fan of forced Socialist Healthcare ..... but with the cost of treating illegal immigrants has gone through the roof and CAN BE traced back to the illegals as to the cost to treat them ........this nice new plan will erase all that as it won't matter who or what you are you will qualify and receive free healthcare ..... and the neat part of all of this is that the working people or people that pay taxes will be allowed to pay for it ...... :woohoo: :tiphat:

Haven't heard anything new about these issues in forever but if you reside abroad and have no American insurance benefit seems to me you would be excluded from having to pay for . As for ss being less haven't heard that either . Either way not likely anything regarding Obama Care would be official untill some time next year after the election . Hell , i might not be here next year . Don't sweat the small stuff . -)

this obama care will never fly, there is no free medical insurance people are looking for, it is all about government insurance you pay and they tell you what your goin to get, it is the same as medicare, the insurance companys will not play this game, they will raise the cost to their profits.
