GregZ Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I got my first extension (38 days) today at the Cebu BI Office. It went smoothly and quickly. All I needed was my passport, 3030 pesos and their form (provided there)! This is the second time I did a first extension there. The first time took about 1-1/2 hours as more tourists were in town. This time, 5 July 2012, it took only 1/2 hour. Both times I went in the morning, arriving about 10:30; any later and you risk running into lunchtime. ABOUT GETTING THE EXTENSION UPON ENTRY: The first time I entered (19 Apr 12) the Philippines @ Cebu the customs supervisor office said they would do the extension IF I came to their office BEFORE getting the 21 days stamp in the passport. This entry was through Manila (18 Jun 12). They said, "Go through the line and get the 21 day stamp then come to the office for the 38 days extension. Happy Visaing... :bash:
Forum Support Old55 Posted July 5, 2012 Forum Support Posted July 5, 2012 Great information thank you Greg. " I truly think Philippines hates tourists this foolish harassment example is so common over there.
brock Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I cant understand that if people know they will be staying longer than the 21 days, Why dont they get the extension in their own country before they leave, I know that in the UK it is a lot easier than messing about getting one in the Philippines
MikeB Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I cant understand that if people know they will be staying longer than the 21 days, Why dont they get the extension in their own country before they leave, I know that in the UK it is a lot easier than messing about getting one in the Philippines If you live near the Philippines Embassy in Washington or one of the 6 or 7 consulates scattered around the country it's a good option but most people do not like sending their passports in the mail and the embassy staff do not answer phones or return emails. I found they do respond to questions sent by fax lol. I did it twice and it is a little cheaper.
sonjack2847 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I did my first in the UK it cost me just over £200 which is about p1300. It is cheaper here and it took me 50 minutes last time. If you don`t want to be bothered with it Paul on this forum can do it for you.

Ruddy_Rooster Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 £200 must surely be a typo, I guess he meant £20 (£22 for a single entry to be more precise?). Personally I prefer getting it done in Phils as opposed to UK, mostly as I don't live anywhere near London or any other city that has a Phils embassy. Dealing with posting my passport just seems a risk not worth taking when I only need to give up a morning to get it done in Cebu.
Dave Hounddriver Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 it cost me just over £200 which is about p1300. The exchange rate for the pound must be getting pretty terrible then. But I assume you mistyped and meant 20 pounds.
