Money Transfer Fees: $0.00 Through Western Union Right Now

I don't know how long this will last, but if you want to move money with Western Union there is NO transfer fee when sending to the Philippines. Recieve the money in DOLLARS or they will still get around .75 peso per dollar; so $800 will cost you 600 pesos if you collect in PHP. I have my bank account set up to send direct from there in 3 days, so I can make the transfers online.

Not all Western Union offices payout in dollars... The ones I have used are in Ayala Mall & around Fuente Circle. This has been available for about a month and I don't know when it will end.

I believe this only applies to transfers initiated, for example, from a credit card account.

Such transfers incur big fee penalties as they are classified as money advance on your credit card.

It also can act negatively on your credit. Also this probably means you will get pesos for dollars and incur the other big expense-the conversion spread.
