earthdome Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Without trying to sound like a total a**h*le (I am going to sound like one) I would rather the economy in the PI's doesn't get too good... then my US dollars wouldn't be worth as much and I would have to retire elsewhere. Yeah... that makes me sound bad... but it is true. I need it to stay third world so I can afford it. Sorry Ford. The problem regarding the value of the USD for your retirement is not the place you choose to live... the problem is the devaluation of the USD caused by inflationary monetary policy and out of control government spending in the US. It is getting more and more difficult to find good investments where you can retain value and maybe even earn some income above and beyond inflation.
