JJReyes Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 We all know him as Jollygoodfellow or Bossman, but the forum manager and site owner is also an accomplished web designer. He just completed two websites for me, www.u-pickfruits.com and www.overseasretirementcare.com. If you know someone who needs a website, have them PM him for a price quotation. The website http://www.u-pickfruits.com is about our family owned farm. I might change the concept from farm visitation Agritourism to a Continuing Care Retirement Community for retirees. This would be a larger scale development project than Agritourism. I would need to source for angel investors. Potentially more interesting for forum members is http://www.overseasretirementcare.com. My plan is to start by promoting the service in Hawaii. Assuming the response is positive, the referral network will be expanded. Possibly some forum members who would be interested as placement agents. Their role is to communicate with primary caregivers (the spouse, son or daughter of a person with Alzheimer's) about the Philippines. When the Alzheimer's patient is relocated, the placement agent provides help for the family to assure a smooth transfer. The cost for Alzheimer's care is $1,500 to $3,500 a month. We estimate the average at $24,000 a year. Placement agents receive 5% as compensation for their services. This would be $1,200 per year as supplemental income. If you have ten, it would be $12,000 per year or $1,000 a month before taxes. There is no violation of Philippine labor laws because the money is coming from a US corporation. I need six months to test the concept and to get organized. Part of my plan is visit Manila and Cebu to conduct workshops for potential placement agents. By the way, the gentleman and two sons in the photograph are from Mississippi and the nursing home is located in Iloilo City. The owner is an expat retiree from Germany married to a Filipina. He spent a couple of years exploring all sorts of possible businesses in the Philippines before deciding on Alzheimer's care. Give me youe feedback through this forum or the website. I need practice responding to blogs.
