Smart Launches Freedom Plan, No More Overspend On Postpaid

How does Freedom Plan redefine postpaid?

It removes that dreaded monthly service fee (MSF) and it also removes the usual 24-month lock-in period. So far, so good. What makes it really good, however, is that the plan starts with zero.

That means that users only pay what they consume.

In other words, Freedom Plan is a postpaid plan that acts like prepaid. This is great for users who need connectivity at all times but do not want the hassle brought about by using prepaid.

So if a user consumes 100 pesos worth of text and 100 pesos worth of calls in a month, the bill would only be 200 pesos.

* Say goodbye to fixed monthly service fees.

* Built-in P600 limit to ensure you don't overspend.

To me it looks like a prepaid plan with an invoice.

If for some unlucky reason you need to go over the 600 PHP limit you're screwd.

So not a good option for business people of someone who needs to be connected all the time.

Postpaid plan with set limits - no overspending. And no monthly fees.

Although one can set the monthly limit higher.

very simple way to "avoid" being cut-off.

PAY AHEAD.

you can go to any 7/11 ,use you online BILL PAY to pay any amount, or visit any SMART office

in the few times I have nearly reached or surpassed it,

I just paid a few hundred .so I could continue my "service"

make sure when you attempt to APPLY for a "POSTPAID" account

that you have the "required"documents.

Proof of Identification

It can be one of the following:

  • Laminated Company ID
  • Locally-issued Passport

  • Laminated/photo membership ID from Top Sports and Country Clubs
  • Laminated/photo firearms license card or Firearms Permit to Carry
  • For foreign citizen applicants, valid (not expired/revoked) internationally-issued passport or unexpired Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR)

Proof of Address

This needs to be under the applicant’s name and matches the preferred billing address. It can be one of the following:

  • Utility Bill (e.g. Electric or Water or Telecom or Cable or Credit Card Bill)
  • Bank Statement
  • Lease of Contract
  • Notarized Lessor’s Certificate

Proof of Financial Capacity

This can be any one of the following:

are we talking about phone orr Internet here?

if it is Internet then Smart have the 999 Unlimited plan post paid or if you prefer no sign up then load 200 pesos every 5 days and use the Unli 200 promo. as for telephone, I hardly use it now I have a wife living with me. She does 95% of all the calling and texting now. We just use one of the smart promos like 15 or 20 pesos a day for unlimited, I used to use the 250 pesos I think it was for 15 days for unlimited calls and texting but I think it might have been for smart to smart?.

Thanks for the info but I stick to my current Globe postpaid plan I have for the past 10+ years. I still need the phone for the job (with roaming).

As long as the company pays I'm not worried....

So not a good option for business people of someone who needs to be connected all the time.

the low "limit" is usually not HIGH Enough for most businessess., its to attract the young mobile customers and those who need the "security" of having "an open line" w/out the worry of,, NO BALANCE to make call/text

your answer is listed below

Although one can set the monthly limit higher.
