Since the law will apply to all dual citizens, why is your poll limited only to citizens of the USA?

I had wanted the views(votes) of the Dual citizens(FIL-AMS) .

if you or others wish to VOTE .please go ahead

not meant to exclude .only to get their views (votes)

You are using Dual Citizen and FIL-AM interchangeably. Most of us think a FIL-AM is a person with Philippine and US citizenship. What about the ones who are dual citizens of Canada and Philippines or Australia and Philippines? Does their opinion matter any less? And why?

U.S. Census 2010 estimates 1.7 million Filipinos in America who were not US citizens at the time of their birth. The total includes naturalized citizens, legal permanent residents, temporary residents (for example, H1B1 visas holders and students), and undocumented residents. I haven't found the numbers for Canada, but entry of the estimated 400,000 Filipinos was more recent. I estimate more than 70% were not Canadian citizens at the time of their birth.

Those born in the Philippines and then changed their citizenship can apply for dual nationality. I don't know about Canada, but the United States does not recognize dual nationality. You can only re-enter the United States using an American passport. Why recognize dual nationality? Taxation?

Philippine history includes several political parties advocating to become the 51st state in the Union.

 I guess a lot would not like that! it would put you back to square one, still receiving pensions in $ but Spending $ on shopping. with all the trappings of being on US soil. :)

Nah lets hope it stays as it is. after all! it's more fun in the Philippines. :541:
