after reading this article ,seems the NEW BI commissioner is making some changes. EVEN encouraging, that those who "have complaints" to file them.

Just maybe Mr David will be a NEW IMAGE at the BI.

Since March last year, the Bureau of Immigration has sacked 36 immigration officers and suspends 41 others for various offenses as part of its campaign against corruption.

Commissioner Ricardo David said he has strived to be very decisive in investigating administrative complaints against Immigration officials and employees since he assumed the leadership of the bureau after an eight-month stint as Armed Forces chief of staff.

“We have consistently demonstrated a resolve to reform our practices and professionalize our ranks,” David said as the bureau prepared to celebrate its 72nd anniversary on Sept. 1.

Six employees were also dropped from the rolls and six others were reprimanded, he added.

(must read)

The BI chief encouraged all those who have complaints against immigration employees not to hesitate in filing their complaints.

He formed a complaint redress section in his office where grievances against erring employees can be lodged through letters or phone calls and even by walk-in visitors.

David vowed to continue his efforts to professionalize the bureau’s ranks, adding that the Civil Service Commission has cited the BI for being the first agency to submit an enhanced performance management system.

“Soon we shall be introducing a Strategic Performance Management System to institutionalize the process of measuring and evaluating the performance of our employees on a regular basis,” he said.

Maybe I should tell them about the one who offered to renew my visa in the CR. I noticed he was still working on August 22nd when I picked up my ACR-I card.

If we see all the other depts do similar strategies ( :hystery: :hystery: :hystery: ) we could see a drastic reduction in "thieving bastards" in this country, a problem which haunts many an honest person in this country, and costs a good percentage of tourism numbers because of the thieves in positions of authority...

Interesting that the new head for the Bureau of Immigration is a former high-ranking military officer. There is a group of officers, graduates of the Philippine Military Academy, that reputed swore an oath that they won't succumb to graft and corruption. They are collective known as the Batch of 69, named after the year of their graduation. Similar private oaths were taken by othe graduating classes. This is above the normal oath of allegiance.

Truth hurts a lot of folks and to make some sort of big deal and attempt to put me down for stating the obvious and, how it is, shows a rather small minded attitude. I and any others have the right to comment on stuff. You don't like hearing truthfull and accurate info on matters from me from time to time, then you are free to put me on ignore and never see a post of mine again. Just as I am about to put you two small minded individuals on ignore now...
