Balut

Ha Ha, you guys!

I remember the first time I saw this on White Beach in Mondoro, I too was repulsed! (and avoided my then g/f for a few hours afterwards, only a few hours mind you, I can't wait any longer than that!)

However over the years I have heard many different reasons why eating Balut, is in fact good for you?

The most common reason is that it is very good for your knees? It turns out that it is not only good for your knees but all your joints, (well almost all of them Jake!).

I'll admit to having balut almost as often as my now wife, however I suck the juice, eat the white bits and leave the feathers feet beeks to her!

I guess I'm not yet a full fledged Filipino! But I am working on it.

I remember another post where the delights of eating Chickens feet were discussed, and yet they won't eat what we would call the part of the chicken referred to as "the parsons nose" (chicken bum)!

Only in the Philippines!

Love it.

I always laugh at how people judge another cultures food, who says that a a Tbone steak is correct, eating chicken? What about the sacred pig in some places. If you were born in the Philippines would you guys think that balut is wrong if it was part of the food chain for god knows how long? No I could not stomach it but that's my western up bringing.

Surly does not mean that's its revolting or wrong to eat certain food, huh.

Think ill go and eat worms, no one stresses over that !

Well boys andgirls, i was born and raised here. and spent my first 20 years downing BALUTS and guzzling SAN MIGUS, when i wasnt chasing BOOM BOOM GIRLS in Olongapo. When i got back 5 months ago, i picked up where i left off. Still drinking San Migs. and chasing BOOM bOOM girls.(nowa days they just come to me voluntarily). But the BALUT? never do that again, and im a PINOY.... go figure ...1247.gif tanks EJ.

Just your average Cano White Boy here. GOTTA tell ya, BALUT is pretty good. Just don't eat the white part. They can use that for hockey pucks I think. :th_interesting: The JUICE the guy wasted in the video is the best part. The eggs we get here in Cebu City have an X on the end to break open and drink the juice from before proceeding to the yellow and duck parts. :7_4_17[1]: Add a little spice as well as the salt and vinegar with a little red pepper (sili). Eat ON!

Also, through the years I have learned to JUST NOT QUESTION some things. In this case it is the belief that this is a powerful aphrodisiac. I don't particularly nEEd it, but appreciate the benefits that the belief brings from others. :36_6_3[1]: :cheersty:

Now that's the spirit EJ -- picked up where you left off! I am so anxious to join you there at our hometown of PO City.

Speaking of BOOM-BOOM, Olongapo was my first exposure to that wonderful nectar called brown sugar.

The other so called delicacies -- no way, Jose....! I would rather smell the bicycle seat of a 400 pound female riding

in her thongs.....he, he.
