Pasaloubong For Male Family Members...is It Necessary ?

I would like some forum member's thoughts on pasaloubongs for male members of the family. I'm talking about the brothers of my GF in this case as her parents will receive a gift of my appreciation for their daughter. My ex GF didn't have much of a family structure so I bought some chocolates at the duty free on arrival and gave them to her to distribute out to those she considered worthy. When I went to visit friends, I would only bring some gifts fo her and perhaps those closest family members ie their Mom or favourite Aunty.

I just want to do the righty so I'm not classed as kuripot but I don't want to get caught out by free loaders who think I'm a gullible foreigner either. My GF thinks her brothers are kind because they are there to massage her when she needs but I had to remind her that she does pay them for this service and I'm sure she is their best customer hehe.

All comments welcome :cheersty:

someone will classify me as kuripot and spread it around that I am a cheap prick.

YOU SURE GOT THAT ONE RIGHT!!! :hystery: I'm a cheap prick according to a few of the neighbors and relatives that aren't benefiting (enough in their opinion) from the money I'm spending here... and I spend plenty.

Wiki says, "Pasalubong can be any gift or souvenir brought for family, loved ones, or friends after being away for a period of time."

So, you are cleared to do whatever you like.

I stock up on the one-shot sized liquor bottles for the non-essential male relatives like cousins, uncles, etc. For the brothers, I usually give them cigars for the pasalubong. Its tough not to feel like a mogul when you're puffing on a fat stogie and downing shots of imported liquor.

I believe it could be a good subject to write a whole book about, trying to find a good handling in between them :mocking:

I haven't met the family the first time yet, but I believe I will give them some food to the fiesta they plan to have then,

BUT tell early money will go to make some JOBS for them, so basicly working good to get any money (but I will try to pay some higher salary than what's normal there. But possible I can add some gifts later, not to beggars, but as suprises :)
