She's just using the wrong preposition, as many Asians do. Not ashamed "of" u but personally ashamed, probably meaning "humbled" and grateful.

Exactly! I started this thread because I was wondering if many others had to decipher into their version of English (or any other language) compared to their loved ones. Myself, I always have a good idea what my darlin' means and I find variances like this to be just another example of how sweet she is!
