Only certain places carried the antibiotics

Every Pharmacy should carry the Antibiotic it needs a Prescription, that means a trip to the doctor, at 200/300 per visit, not many can afford this or pay it . Here in Dumaguete, we have a Screening center, it is at City Hall and is accessible to those that require it. Main problem I feel, is people just will not, take the Time to get involved with the partnership programme. The trike ride into the city is 9 peso the Screening is free. I am not aware of the medicine cost I presume it is at a level, that is not, out of the reach of a lot of Sufferers ( Considering this is a central Government Issue)

Each Barangay is, according to the hospital, Supposed to lay on Transport to areas out side of the Control/screening centres. Like most things, it will take an epidemic or some deaths, to wake people up. This is preventable. Maybe I am offering a new word to the Filipino Vocabulary here

sorry but Action needs to be NOW not LATER ( )

My wife was diagnosed with inactive TB as part of her screening for her US visa. In her case, the medications were free from the Embassy clinic. When looking at her treatment options, we did some investigation of the cost of the drugs. If purchased under a Dr. presciption at Mercury Drug or other phamacies, the cost was 2600p for a month's supply. There was a discount card available, without the card, cost would have been about 4k. These prices are for the branded medicines.

If she had opted to receive treatment at a Filipino clinic, the medicine was free but had to be administered on-site. That meant daily visits to the clinic. We were not able to find a source of free medicine that did not require daily trips to the clinic to receive the meds.

I was exposed to TB during my last assignment to Korea and tested positive for inactive TB after arriving to my assignment in Germany. The treatment was 9 months of antibiotics and B6 vitamins....the B6 was to help with kidney function. I couldn't have beer while on the meds do to the strain the meds put on my kidneys....sucks...I'm in Germany and can't drink German beer for 9 months. After the meds I was never retested. I was told that I would always test positive for the skin test after being exposed. Hopefully the antibiotics killed the TB and it doesn't become active later in life. Or by being exposed to TB once again after I move to the Philippines.

Oh they started that hard antibiotic treatment for INACTIVE, although it only become latent later for only 1 of 10 or so!

After exposed to TB how long is it before the person starts coughing or have other noticeable symptoms? And, when a person starts coughing are they already in the last stage before death?

It's dangerous, but not that dangerous as you believe.

Not all exposed get even latent TB (but big risk to get THAT NOT ill)

Only 1 of 10 of the latent get ill EVER.

Since antibiotics were invented, far from all die, it's a big chance to survive, but it take several months of eating strong mixture of strong antibiotis. (I believe 6 months normaly.)

Even WITHOUT antibiotics "only" 50% die.

Some complicated by TB bacterias get resistant, which make new antibiotics needed to be invented now and then. Resistant e g by people ending their medication to early, but also by doctors prescript antibiotics to early to often.

That's why I wondered in other post about they treated latent bacterias with strong antibiotics.
