Popular Post Mike S Posted October 27, 2012 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2012 Well we just bought a new toy today .... a Digital Camcorder ..... it's now a professional or high priced unit but it has to be a lot better than those damn spyglasses I had to take back after 3 returns for different things being wrong with them (but that's another tale) ..... The unit is an HP t250 and costs a whopping p7995 .... cheapest others were about p9989 but with less features It has 1080p Full HD video recording (most others under p13999 weren't) 3" touch screen LCD Up to 16MP still image capture (only the high priced ones offer this) 5X optical / 4X digital zoom or 20X zoom max (others were from 42 to 73 zoom) so this is a bit less Motion detection Dual SD card slots (SD / Micro SD slots) Can be charged by adapter or PC USB port ..... one feature I was really looking for as you can charge it from your car with a cigarette lighter adapter (True Value has them) can charge cell phone ... cameras anything with a USB connection Loads of other features that I haven't had time to play with yet ..... but I love the touch screen ..... sooooooo easy to use I spent about 2 whole days reviewing the cams that were available for me here in the price range I wanted to pay and this one was hands down the best and had the most features that were not even offered in the other brands ..... we looked at Samsung ..... JVC ...... Canon and Sony ...... their models under p12000 were not true HD nor did they offer single picture taking .... duel SD cards or touch screen ...... they did however offer more zoom ...... Google reviews fro the HP t250 are kinda sparse as this is HP's first attempt to enter the video cam market in about 5 years ..... I did find one site that people were screaming about how terrible they were .... until you actually read what they wrote you would never buy one ..... The format is a mov. file so you need the software that comes with the camera OR you are smart enough to have a program that will change the format to something else ..... Windows will not so people were up in arms because they didn't read the instructions FIRST .... The Video / Audio plays on Apple QuickTime player but I don't think it comes with the set up (haven't looked .... don't need it) and some people were screaming they had to buy Apple QuickTime ..... idiots .... it's a free download from the net .... people that don't know what they are doing don't need to write reviews ...... IMHO..... The instructions that come with it REALLY SUCK ...... but there is a 96 page manual that you can download on line for free ..... just Google HP t250 manual ..... I downloaded it and read it cover to cover before I bought the cam .... Anyway I'm happy so far with it so I guess that is all that matters ...... I wanted something to record our trips to Bacolod and house hunting there so we have a record of what we looked at and can view the houses and areas when we get home (at my age I tend to forget what I see ..... after a while .... :mocking: ) So look out O-U-C ....... there is a new sheriff in town ....... :hystery: :hystery: :hystery: :hystery: :hystery: ...... yea right ..... I don't think you will ever have to worry about me being any competition ...... but you will have to suffer through some of my handy work ...... ...... :cheersty:

I'll remember you next time I want to buy something. :cheersty: PS Have you ever studied The Philippines economic zones?
Jake Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) No uploading any bedroom scenes :mocking: Speaking of which, I was wondering what that motion detection was......does it detect vertical or horizontal motion? I have read the HP T250 reviews on QVC and it looks pretty good, especially for the price (retails about $200). I always like the HP products and it looks like their first flagship camcorder is a good deal. By the way, no motion around here. Mine is still down around the 6 o'clock position......he, he. Edited October 27, 2012 by Jake double checking my motions....
OldUgly&Cranky Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 hey mike i looked at some video samples on youtube of the camcorder you bought and it isnt too bad :) the camera is soo small i think its even smaller then my camcorder !!! just remember something ok when your editing hd video on your computer it will be a bit laggy it wont play back smoothy ( even on my beast of a computer ) so if that happens then convert it to another format before you edit it then when you render it , render it too mp4 and use handbreak to compress it !! to get smaller file sizes ok ! now for what program to edit in especially if your just starting out in editing i would go with sony vegas pro just look on how to get it on youtube and what render setting are best remember also torrents are our friends hahaha hahahaha I dont mind the competition there mike its how we all can learn for each other , i cant wait to see what you can do with your videos there my friend so start shooting :) O-U-C
i am bob Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Ouch! Sony Vegas Pro retails for around $700... $600 if you can find it on sale... OpenShot retails for.... ? Oh, yeah, opensource software for using on Linux... Cost is free... And some of the results of the testing for HP's new video camera line was done using (ahem) an open source editor that shall remain nameless...
