Mr Lee Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) A new item from Smart gives you a Philippine number on your computer with a usb plug in device that seems to be similar to a Magic Jack. You can receive text for free as if you were in the Philippines and receive calls for free as if you were in the Philippines and it cost you almost the same to make calls or text to a Philippine cell phone the same as if you were using a cell phone in the Philippines, but from anywhere in the world while hooked to your computer. http://www.plugntalkload.com/http://www.smartpinoy.net.ph/SectionPage.aspx?SectionID=9 Edited April 4, 2009 by Mr. Lee
Steve Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I'm gonna have to look into this. Looks similar to the magic jack technology wise, except you have to keep paying for the service used as you use it. It's about 3 cents cheaper per minute than the long distance calling that I use to call a cell phone, but a little more that what it costs to call a land line.
