Homicide is a lesser charge from Murder. Murder is non-bailable, bail is allowed on a charge of Homicide. But the judge still allowed bail when the charge was Murder because he felt the case wasn't strong.

Well.  I agree it can be counted as lower than (planed) murder,

BUT no years in jail is REDICILOUS...

How much did the judge get paid?    :mocking: :bash:

I posted this back in post #58. Look at the tape from about 1:20, the Makati police chief is saying "it's very very clear (malinaw na malinaw) that the only person handling the knife is Juan Alfonso Abastillas" <wife translated>. According to the article Abastillas was released without charges. Really doesn't make sense.

Well Abastillas  parents probably paid the most so that their son did not go to jail. I  have seen where a Filipino stabbed a women 6 times and was found guilty of attempted murder and served 1 month after his sister paid 30,000 pesos to the right people. I was told this is the way it is in the Philippines. Money trumps all.

I couldn't agree more with the above post. According to the article the court's verdict was made final last July and not a word in the media until a couple of tiny articles now. Very sad situation.

A point to ponder.....(to think about about)

with out using "goggle or other search" for a more detailed bio

......

Goldberg is a remarkable person w/an unique State department background

could the current embassy staff(ambassador) being using their past knowledge/experience to help shape a new policy by not disclosing this "closure of case"until now. w/ a legal case pending against an American?

what is the expression... "laying the foundation "

i limit myself at that..

Nothing negative allowed so I have nothing to say.

I edited your post because it contained bad language, not because it was negative. The "bad words" filter should have caught it but didn't. That has been corrected.

An ADVANTAGE with the Filipin way is it don't cost much either to GET justice if hire an assassin to solve it fair...   :mocking:

(From 5000 pesos according to a documentary about crime.)

Might get four years though, he is a foreigner after all.
