Popular Post stevewool Posted December 26, 2012 Popular Post Posted December 26, 2012 lots of threads about living cost and we are all differant so lots of differant answers too,my wife is from the philippines and she often would tell me about there childhood, growing up in the province and then moving to the cities, life i think was very hard for her parents but they have done well all the kids went through collage and most have done well for themselves, by no means rich in cash but rich in life they are, anyway back to the title, Emmas dad lives in his own house and he works still not earning much but he gets by he also rents out a small house on his land so that helps with all the bills too, the last time we was there he showed me his bills and compared to the bills we have in england well i was suprised, this is where i struggle when people say you cant live here on that amount, he does and the amount is very very little compared to what i think i will have spare each month, he eats well, the house may need a little work on it but he is happy, money in the bank, working and eating and keeping clean, the only differance i can see between myself and him is my house will be where i want it, the food we will eat will be very similer to what he eats, water too, like i have said i am not a drinker, smoker,or will own a car, now my sister in law has 5 kids 4 goes to collage all private but she earns very well her husband works abroad comes home once a year to help put the kids through all this, they are buying a new house this year so there cost is just like here, infact i dont know how they do it,we all live to what we should live too, some dont thats why they are in trouble, i live to well within my means helping us save more for our future, yes we help the family when we can but not for the stupid things, her dad is having a new roof soon helped by us, one day i am hoping her dad will help me build my house if thats the way we go when in the phils

stevewool Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 my wifes aunt moved abroad years ago to help raise her children 2 boys and 1 girl when her husband abandoned her and the kids, it was Emmas mum that brought the kids up while she worked very hard in france sending money home when she could to help, now 20+ years later her aunt is a very wealthy lady who owns her place in paris, has a house built in marikina and her sons with there families live there, she still is sending money back to support them , i have know idea what the sons do for work or there partners, thats if they work, but they have the best of everything, designer cloths, bags, new cars and so on, do they expect there mum to pay everything all there life, it seems it to me

The first generation of a wealthy family works very hard to create the wealth, the second generation works to maintain the wealth and the third generation works hard to spend the wealth.
