Year 2012 saw 635 foreigners nabbed for violating immigration laws.

"Mangrobanng attributed the success of the BI's drive against illegal aliens to the strong cooperation between the bureau and other law enforcement agencies.

She added that many of the bureau’s intelligence operations were conducted with the cooperation of police attaches from the different foreign embassies who provided information that led to the capture of the illegal aliens."

Thanks Old55! Here's the breakdown: Taiwanese nationals numbering 390 topped the list of the arrested aliens,

followed by 137 Chinese, 32 Koreans, and 25 Americans.

It's a zero-sum game. The deportees will be back soon enough through the back channel.

seems that they are doing the work thats needed to be done and slowly rid the RP of those undesirables.

good luck to the BI  (not the bir)

They were arrested in various operations conducted jointly by the BI with other law enforcement agencies,

including the Philippine National Police,

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Committee.

Taiwanese nationals numbering 390 topped the list of the arrested aliens,

followed by 137 Chinese,

32 Koreans,

and 25 Americans.

Included in the list are 45 foreign fugitives from justice who are wanted for serious crimes, most of whom were already deported and are now serving jail sentences in their homelands.

Curious what the award for finding and deporting those Americans was? Indian and other third world citizens seem to get a pass guess there isn't much incentive to track those guys down?

It would have been 26 Americans deported but one big tough guy ran like a dog with its tail between its legs. He talks big but actually he's a coward.

I believe 25 Illegal Americans is only the tip of the iceberg because just in my area I have heard foreigners mention of buying fake visas. Evidently there are still one or more corrupt Immigration employees in Cebu City.

Proof once again that we Canadians can't get no respect!

Couldn't they at least deport and ban one of us?

:mocking:

Only the top four countries by number are named in the article. Countries with smaller totals weren't mentioned specifically. There probably were Canadians rounded up also so don't feel left out.

Considering that there were only 49 other people deported after the list released by BI, I don't think there could have been too many. Hope everybody knows I was kidding about not being respected as no Canadians were shown to be deported... :mocking:
