Marriage Requirements

It's not a legal requirement but it's custom that the child take the mother's maiden name as the middle name. I got into quite an argument with the medical records dept of the hospital where our child was born about this but ultimately went along with it thinking there would be too many screw ups down the line if I didn't. I believe this is at the root of many of the name problems here.

Hi guys, thx for your replys, my name and my fathers name are the same except middle names, i think thats where the confusion came from, anyways we decided to delay nor just purely for the error on my CENOMAR but financial constraints also, we would have to had re-arranged the embassy appointment which would have meant staying here in Manila longer than planned and like someones mentioned on here before " time is money " i budgeted for my stay and the wedding but like i says my work let me down badly for an xmas bonus, we could have still went ahead with the wedding but i would have to have borrowed from back home which i decided against, we will just press ahead with other issues whilst im here such as paying the rest of the dress and book a venue for later in the year.. my fiancee is fine with it, just need to see what her mum says lol, shes from a quiet family who live in the mountains in Mindanao.

again thx for all your help and information, we`ve made a few mistakes and learnt from them, but we will just enjoy our time together rather than stress about appointments and paperwork " for now " !

Too bad it didn't work out jock! No sense beating your head against the wall. :1 (103): My girl and I were supposed to get married in the USA on 25 Dec, but decided instead to spend 6 months in Manila for TB treatment. :999: Strange how things work out though; we get to experience Manila and have renewed contact with some relatives that live nearby. Also, we got to spend the holidays with my girl's family, get more time to save up for travel adventures in the USA, and enhanced some investment projects here.

Best of luck in all you do.... :tiphat:

Best of luck to you also Greg, tbh i dont think i could handle 6mths in Manila, just to crowded and poluted, the other day i found myself copying the locals with holding a handkercheif to my face whilst walkign near main roads, but its good your getting to know the other halfs family whilst your here !!

and yes Brock i will have to renew both for next time,, no biggie really the CNI was 30 quid and the CENOMARS about £7, would have been a lot more expensive if i had to stay in manila a few more weeks food rent etc and " hope " everything was in order, anyways were fine with the decision and im now in Mindanao, ahhhhh the fresh air, much cooler here also !

looking forward to munching on some baboy lechon hehee..

thx again for your replys fellas, really appreciate it..

im in Ozamiz city, maybe 3-4 hours from Cagayan on a bus, her family lives on a farm in the mountains, air is so cool and fresh and the views are stunning, they grow corn, coconuts (who doesnt ), limes and chillis, my fiancee and her sister have moved into a nice secure village in Ozamiz so they can have there own space etc, handy for my visits !!
