Geoff Thomas Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Hi all, Happy New Year! I have had a trapped nerve for about 2 years now which I have just learnt to live with, I have seen Doc Pardis on numerous occasions and although he was able to help with my back issues ( compacted discs ) I don't think he has helped with this trapped sciatic nerve so would like to get a list of alternative docs maybe I need to take a look at alternatives to a Chiropractor. Pain in left lower hip/but and comes and go's in intensity but is always present at some level. Not sure wether Acupuncture or Osteotherapy. Anyone had the same that could maybe share some thoughts and maybe recommend a good Doc
Forum Support Old55 Posted January 4, 2013 Forum Support Posted January 4, 2013 I feel your pain! Honestly I know how you feel having serious sciatica lower back issues myself. Dr. Pardis is great if he is unable to help you perhaps you could ask him to suggest treatment. Good luck I know what you are going through is no fun.
i am bob Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Dumb question but I gotta ask - do you keep anything in your back pockets? This is also what is commonly known as Trucker's Nerve - caused by sitting on their wallet all day. With the business you are in, I imagine you spend a bit of time sitting in your car or office - check into an Obus cushion for relief as well. Dave Hounddriver Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Dr. Pardis is great if he is unable to help you perhaps you could ask him to suggest treatment. I did that and said he could recommend an acupuncturist. Did you ask him about that Geoff? I did not follow up on it. Doctors say my pain is related to Diabetes and fixing it will not stop it from coming back.
sonjack2847 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I have the same problem as you Geoff and I use Naproxen to take away the swelling of the joints. I have found this the most effective treatment.
Geoff Thomas Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Thanks all, will try all of the above just in case but I have just got back from an Acupuncturist and will go back 3 more times next week. Found Dr Lim on another site will get his phone number and post later, but having had one session he has found that the problem is actually trauma within my hip socket and he is confident he can fix. Will keep you posted but after years of extreme off road motorcycling and rugby it makes sense to me especially after years of trying manipulation with no or little effect.
