OnMyWay Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 This is probably a question for Subic or Angeles members. Subic Freeport has several stores touted as duty / tax free. Clark may have the same. Are there any real deals to be found there on foreign made electronics and appliances? I was in town but I didn't get a chance to visit Royal or the others. Right on the corner near our hotel a new place opened up, selling foreign goods at a discount, but I didn't have time to look closely at the prices. SubicSteve Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I believe you are talking about the store called "Deals". It's about a block from Harbor Point mall. They should actually change the name of the place to "Ripoff". They sell items from Australia that have been sold once and returned. The prices are completely off the chart. Avoid it like the plague. Saver's will be your best bet on appliances and electronics. There are a couple of other stores in the mall also. Ask for the CASH price. It should be 10-15% less than the regular price. There is a Savers in Olongapo and one in Barretto.

We walked in and did the circle and walked out because we were not in the position to buy anything anyway. I probably walked by 10 times after they opened and I never saw a customer at the cash register. I think their business model will need some tweaking if they are gong to give it a go. I saw some foreigners who looked like they might be the owners. Do you ever go to Royal, Pure Gold duty free, etc?
