Popular Post Jollygoodfellow Posted January 17, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 17, 2013 Romantic atmosphere might be a personal opinion so? Are you sure she would be happy in a place that has steak or Italian? Whats her background as she might feel intimidated or out or her league. Maybe some first easy meetings in Jollibee where she maybe in her comfort zone might be a better way to start things off. Resturaunt's later but you probably know her and what I suggest may be completely wrong. Think about this, steak restaurant to us means a sharp steak knife, Filipina usually uses fork and spoon so bit like me trying to use chop sticks in a fancy Chinese resturaunt while meeting someone from another land so perhaps make it easy for her.
Popular Post Bigdog Posted January 17, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 17, 2013 That was my thought too , it might be way out of her comfort zone...best to leave the heavy duty romantic resturant for later , go someplace she feels comfortable... Ask her favorite place ( be prepared for "ikaw ang bahal" ( "its up to you ") lol) , keep her in her comfortable surroundings besides unless you've been here before you'll be suffering your culture shock...
Popular Post lonewolf Posted January 17, 2013 Author Popular Post Posted January 17, 2013 Thanks for the come backs and I appreciate your comments and what you say is something I might want to consider seriously. As far as culture shock I served in Viet nam as and I understand that, also I been in some of the poorer mex border towns. But I do know she has an adventurous spirit, and a questing mind. She is a line supervisor for metsumi corp. And they took her to Japan for training, and on her own is going to college to be a teacher. She is a hard worker and has helped her mother since her father died in 2001, and she is very frugal, and saves dome money. I was thinking she deserved a nice outing
Popular Post sonjack2847 Posted January 17, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 17, 2013 You can give her a nice outing and still keep it simple. Treat her well and she will be happy. There is a restaurant on Mango avenue called the lighthouse it is very nice there but not overwhelming. Or Mai Krua next to the Diplomat hotel on F Ramos street nice Thai food there, best I`ve had outside of Thailand.

My feelings too, take her where she feels MOST comfortable, ask her to choose and tell her why you feel it's important that she should be at ease. Promise something lavish when you are completely comfortable together.
Popular Post Geoff Thomas Posted January 17, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 17, 2013 I agree with most of the above, once you have found out what kind of places and food she likes I can probably point you in the right direction having been here over 8 years I have eaten at many restaurants around the city, good, bad and excellent so if you like, give me a shout a bit later on once you know. Hope you have a good first date where ever you go. :cheersty:
i am bob Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I too have gone to the fancy romantic restaurants for first dates. And it always backfires on my. Why? Either it is above what she is comfortable with or it leaves me with nowhere to go next time! I know it sounds a little different but ...! I would suggest something that she would normally go to but a little more upscale than that again. :tiphat:
Popular Post SubicSteve Posted January 18, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2013 Everyone here has been spot on. Let her show you around. Don't try to impress her with opulence. If you want to impress her, be respectful of her, her mother and the Philippines. Win her through her heart, not your wallet. Got any more questions?
