oldutot Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Hi davewe, Since you're staying at the Manila airport at first. places to eat near the airport would be the mall of Asia, or the aristocrat restaurant for the price
GregZ Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I fly in late at night and we are staying at the Waterfront Hotel, across from the airport. Manila airport or Cebu airport? I think Waterfront by airport is Cebu. The one in Manila area is on Roxas Boulevard. Fred & Mimi Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) this place looks romantic especially at night, not sure though if the food there will be to your liking since it is a native restaurant - https://www.facebook.com/LantawNativeRestaurant/photos_stream I took my GF there yesterday in Busay and the food is tasty and well priced with views of Cebu to die for. Very friendly service too. Recommended Edited March 11, 2013 by Fred & Mimi

davewe Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I just want a quiet, romantic spot she will remember in the future. With family so high on the list of most in the Philippines.... I told my girl that I was intending on proposing to her at the beach, in front of her family so they could all enjoy it together. She liked that.... BUT then I secretly arranged a dinner (a couple uncles helped) at her parents house the week before the beach trip and proposed there in front of EVERYONE from grandparents to nephew. No pressure at all. They even did the traditional engagement ritual just before the surprised woman arrived. An elder from another family represented on my behalf. This is really a cool idea and I'm sure it was a big hit. I suspect my fiance and I are a bit more private (she is shy) and so I prefer a private moment. However, we are hosting lunch for the family a couple days later on the beach at Alcoy and I suspect there will be lots of showing off of the ring and a happy celebration.
