i am bob Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Innocent until proved otherwise, well I guess not here or on this website by some of you! "I am Bob" you say "Anybody dumb enough to smoke pot in the Governor's private home deserves to get whacked in the head or more!" You obviously have not lived here long if you trust Gov. (sic) Singson, do you not even know that his son was arrested for drugs? Also this story has more holes than Swiss cheese, and more versions than the Bible. Who invited them to Singson's house? Singson? If it was not Singson was it one of his family or staff, if so why were they not charged? If they broke in why were they not charged with that? Then if you check the paperwork you will see the first charge was methamphetamine but that was later amended to marijuana. Then if you check the newspapers one says the suspects refused the drugs test whereas two full sets of drug test results are now on record. How about looking at the date of the so called offence, why did it take so long to make the press? The beat reporters work hard on this type of story and it normally takes 48 hours to make print this story took six days meaning it was probably planted. Check the Court records and the accused should have been granted bail as this is a bailable offence and bail had been set, suddenly one call and bail was denied.I could go on and point out further problems but please can I just ask that we all keep an open mind until a verdict is in or as I suspect the case is dismissed. If it is dismissed maybe then we can look at the other problems with this case as so many exist. NEWFLASH: I have just heard they are out of prison. The whole story, as reported by the news, is totally ridiculous. These men are in the Governor's private home in the wee hours of the morning smoking pot. Smoking pot in the Philippines is illegal, Smoking pot in the Governor's private residence is stupid. Should the Governor be a strong, upright, legal and morally bound man and defender of all evils type, do you think he would hesitate to arrest these men? Should the Governor be a average Joe but enjoys holding onto the power he has, do you not think that maybe he knows the staff are now aware that somebody was smoking pot in the Governors's private home? If somebody talks about it, what do you think his chances of being re-elected would be? So obviously he is going to have these people arrested. Now suppose the Governor is one of these back-door politicians who would buy his way in and step on and grind into the dirt any other people who may be an issue in regards to him getting back in? What if his own son is one of the biggest stumbling blocks he has because his son is a pot-head? Wouldn't it be prudent to have these so-called friends who partake in illegal drugs with his son arrested (minus his son, of course) so that he could show that it wasn't his son after all who was doing these "illicit and illegal drugs" but the group he had arrested? Now his son is Mr Clean and obviously not a detriment to his return to or jumping up in levels of power in the future. So don't you agree that anyone dumb enough to smoke pot in the Governor's private residence deserves a whack in the head to wake them up?
Jollygoodfellow Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 "Jollygoodfellow" yes I do have access to some of the documents which is why I am opinionated but the reason I posted is because I was surprised to see the rush to judgment by some when it appeared they had no knowledge of the characters involved or the black and white facts of the case. I just hope justice prevails, all foreigners are open to false accusations if we do not exercise due diligence. Happens all the time, usually a news story comes out and half the facts are missing or just plain bad reporting. Human nature leads one to have an opinion or perhaps read between the lines right or wrong.

Please check the time and the court papers about the drugs supposed to have been involved and that is where it gets messy. I wish I could divulge other facts but that would give my job away which I cannot afford. However the story as reported, recorded in court papers and the versions that I have heard verbally are all so different I do not want to guess what the truth is but what I can take an educate guess on is this is not as it appears and I think you have a very good eye for the missing elements. Perhaps an introduction about yourself would be greatly appreciated. Are you really a Pinoy from Makati? If you choose to remain a mystery to this forum, that is your choice -- an introduction is not mandatory. However, if you continue to express strong feelings, then our members would feel like -- who is this guy? Is he a govt official, a member of the press or military intelligence or a law enforcement? Do you see where I'm coming from? How do we respond to your future comments? Should we be concern that this forum is under surveillance? Will you make us unnecessarily paranoid? Or should we respond in kind? Jake

JJReyes Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 How do we respond to your future comments? Should we be concern that this forum is under surveillance? Will you make us unnecessarily paranoid? Or should we respond in kind? Of course, this and other forums are under surveillance. Most of the information gathering is benign. It's cheaper than the American way of constantly bothering people with "scientific" research by organizations like Gallup. It is also expensive. Several Philippine government agencies are seriously interested in how to improve their data. One statistics gathering group wants to know how much formal and informal residents spend a month while residing in the Philippines.
Forum Support Old55 Posted January 21, 2013 Forum Support Posted January 21, 2013 The local press and PNP would most likely be informed how to proceed in any case involving an important Filipino Political person. We all know this and understand justice and rule of law as we know from western countries do not necessarily apply in Philippines. The papers and police have their agenda as well as the ever mysterious Mr. Pinoy. We can only guess what transpired that day. I agree with Bob, if they used illegal drugs in Philippines they are fools.
Dave Hounddriver Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I see MrPinoy's point, In this country it is not necessary to have any proof to accuse someone of anything. Just say "underage girl" or "drugs" or "human trafficking" in a loud enough voice and the one(s) you want deported or jailed are already half way out the door. Many or us are raised "where there is smoke there is fire" and yet that is not the case here. Here the story is "where there is smoke there is mirrors" (Link to Smoke and mirrors definition for those whose first language is not English)
