Popular Post BrettGC Posted February 15, 2013 Popular Post Posted February 15, 2013 Well guys, here I am a bit bleary eyed after a 3 day trip to Manila to meet a lady I met on one of the dating sites. Here's the kicker, I didn't tell her I was coming but I timed it so we could spend Valentine's day together. So after arrival and clearing customs etc I hi-tailed it to my motel, dropped my bag off and then walked over to Landmark Makati where she works in one of the stores. I hung around the entrance for a bit, looking at some things, then I heard a voice behind me "can I help you sir?". I turned around and after a few moments recognition on her part dawned; the look of pure delight on her face is one I will remember forever :) So is the neck pain from the hug I received, which I'm pretty sure, I had to have her surgically removed from my body lol. After the initial excitement she frowned and then began to dress me down in English, Tagalog and Cebuano for surprising her like that LOL. This was interspersed with hugs and tears. We had a wonderful couple of days together and there were more tears when I had to leave. The only downside was her disappointment that she was working every day that I was there so next time I'll warn her I'm arriving :). I can't remember feeling so wanted, needed and loved since my children were small. Everything they say about the Pinay in love in is true. Lyn is her name, she's 34 and she's originally from a small coastal village in Marihatag in Surigao Del Sur where her parents look after her son. She's an inch under 5' and that little frame is pure energy and affection lol. She hates being in Manila but like so many Filipinas she's there to support her son. She knows the lifestyle I'm after and has told me on many occasions that even though I'd love it in her province it's just not safe for a western man in such an isolated area - like much of Mindanao I guess. She speaks Tagalog, Cebuano and Surigaonon so where ever we decide to settle the language barrier is unlikely to be an issue. She's working on her annulment now after being separated from her husband for about 5 years - she found him cheating with various women over the time of their marriage. He's now back in Nigeria and remarried so is completely out of the picture. I'm still moving there in April, as to where? Provincial Cebu is still on top of the list, she agrees it's a great compromise and from my perspective more than satisfies the "2 hour rule" lol. Anyway guys, just thought I'd share an internet dating success story. I'd like to thank you lot for the advice, especially with relation to the practicalities such as how much cash to carry and customs etc. Now I've been there again after about 5 years since my last visit it is truly under my skin in a good way. Take Care, Brett
