Howdy Earthdome,

It was just an excellent report you penned.  It was another reinforcement for me as I entend to find my 'perch' in this very same provincial area (or in a province just north or south)...once I 'fy the coop' here.

I could almost see you biking along in my mind and boy oh boy, does it make me want to escape all the sooner!

I am sure others appreciate as do I, your effort to describe your surroundings there.

Continued best of luck to you and yours..hoping to be able to meet up with you for a glass/bottle/mug lifting in the near future!

Just trying to create a realistic view of daily life in the Philippines so others can learn as I did what to expect before they arrive.

Thanks

Me and IbeMarshall will be there with you EarthDome.  Of course I will have to insist that we

stop at every sari-sari store to replenish our body fluids with some cold San Magoo....he, he.

By the way, look at this toy for outdoor riding:  http://www.amazon.com/Contour-ROAM-Camera-Color-Size/dp/B008F09ADK/ref=sr_1_77?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1361161884&sr=1-77&keywords=helmet+camera

Back when I was around 26 I took a 700 mile bicycle tour. All except the first 3 days by myself. There were some days I would stop in the afternoon for a break at some local bar to have a draft. Have to replenish all those carbs I burned riding 70-80 miles per day.

Dang, you're hard core!  I can probably tag along (slowly) if only I had a dedicated ambulance

following my butt with an oxygen bottle to revive me.  And then I would hail a taxi to beat you

to the finish line.....he, he.

What kind of a bike do you ride?  Me I like a road bike, but cannot bike here in Talisay City in Cebu do to the bad air and the dust so I bike indoors. I  ride about 20k everyother day....

I have a cross country mountain bike with a hardtail. I thought about a road bike, but with the roads, etc. thought the xc mountain bike might be better.
