We have many Aussies on the fourm who can offer advice, but need as much details as you can give about your situation. No PERSONAL details such as names, just the situational data. Pinkee Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Hi thanks for the reply. Yes. I am an Australian Citizen for more than 10 yrs now. Working fulltime. Never married. Okay assuming this is the situation: - i applied for my mother to visit here in Australia - As "Sponsorship for sponsored family visa" - she got approved. -Before she goes to Australia, i went to the Philippines for 1 month holiday and got married in Manila to a Filipino citizen. - then i went back to Australia together with my mother (as she already got approved for visa) - so after 2 months back in Australia and work. can i apply for my spouse while my mom is still in Australia? I'm just worried if sponsoring a spouse would affect my mother's visa. I hope i made it more clearer. Thanks

i am bob Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 As your mother is only visiting, it should not make a difference IMHO. We on the forum can give you lots of different answers but the only ones who will give you the factual answers are the good people at Immigration in Australia. You are better off giving them a call and just asking them in a general question. They may be able to answer you directly and let you feel like you don't have to worry if the answer is not the one you wanted to hear. If it is the answer you like, ask them the best way to proceed.
Jollygoodfellow Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Its best you get all the facts from the right people. You have been in contact with them before for your mothers sponsorship so why not ask them? There is no point throwing questions and things around when the people who can give you a 100% correct answer are available to you.
