jpbago Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 The management asked that any new flights to come to the airport should be booked to arrive before the 10 am slot or after the 2 pm slot. Sounds fine to me. Not everybody can have the prime time of flight slots. 10 am to 2 pm is lunch time, not prime time. Prime time is 6 to 9. I have re-read the original PDI article which I quote: He added that this congestion would reach its peak between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. every day—which is when the departures and arrivals of most budget airlines are scheduled. It really doesn't matter what time of day it is. But I would think that arrival and departure during their lunch time would adversely affect work efficiency and work ethics simply because their siesta time has been disturbed -- not good for their moral.....he, he. Liquid lunch anyone?

Jollygoodfellow Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I flew in and out of Cebu this week and I could not believe it. No ramps being used. Buses on the tarmac taking people back and forth like in 1950. What? I have never seen buses used and always embarked or disembarked from a ramp in Cebu. Is this something new?

On our arrival, they pushed stairs on wheels to the front and back doors of the plane. There were some buses waiting that took us to the terminal, maybe 1/2 km. On the departure, we walked down and out onto the tarmac to the stairs on wheels to the front and back doors of the plane. No ramps. There were ramps there but they were not used. I think the plane was a Boeing 737 or maybe a 320 Airbus.
MikeB Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I have never seen buses used and always embarked or disembarked from a ramp in Cebu. Is this something new? The planes are often at gates other then the listed departure and arrival gates so they shuttle passengers in buses here and there around the tarmac. Annoying as hell.
