Markham Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Do you really think that, once this is all set up, that they are going to go by the picture and thumbprint shown on the card? It's all in the chip! Now if you have a card that has a bad picture or thumbprint, that does sound like reasonable cause to have you delayed in Immigration and a more thorough check carried out. Tourist ACR-I cards do not contain any biometric information and the photo used is simply scanned from the holder's Passport. Not that these cards are issued in any great rush, of course, a pukka ACR-I card - with biometrics - takes around 2 - 3 months and the el-cheapo tourist equivalent several weeks.
