Where Is The Nearest Wall?

Filpinos seldom ask directions to the nearest toilet when a wall, any wall, will do. Even if city ordnances forbid it, public urination is not taboo for men. It's the same for women who carry an umbrella for protection against the tropical sun and as a modesty shield for their posterior.

 

Bruce and I have exchanged emails on a possible solution. This is a sanitation and health issue. It may also generate employment for the poor, which will be discussed later. Another benefit is providing poor farmers with free fertilizer.  

 

The design solution comes from Africa. An NGO is distributing 5 gallon containers with a simple plactic collector fitted on the top for women. If it was just for men, we can purchase a large funnel from a hardware store.

 

Does anyone from the forum know a plastic manufacturer in the Philippines who can fabricate the collector? The alternative is an existing plastic dish we can use as a substitute by drilling a hole and attaching it to the top of the five gallon container.
