Hi Guys,

I'll be in the Philippines for ANZAC day (25th April).  Anyone know of any services or gatherings taking place other than the Aust Embassy?  Be great to catch up with some people on the day.

Brett I won"t be in the phils for Anzac day but I was thinking the same thing.I was going to post and let our armed service members of the forum know what Anzac stood for, also to ask them to join us in a beer in memory of all who paid the ultimate price for the freedom we have today.I will be at the dawn service here in Melbourne.Cheers mate.

Thank you gentlemen for your timely tribute to a great Army Corp.  This day of remembrance of the

fallen warriors is similar to our Memorial Day (May 27) in the States.  May they all rest in peace.

Good morning to all my fellow veterans!

I swear.....one of these days, we ALL need to hang out somewhere in PI and have a freakin' blowout!

Each and everyone of you swingin' dicks have a military background that has captured my curiosity

and imagination.  The most recent ones are Senior Chief Brett - RAN, Fusilier JohnB and Devil Dog

Flason - USMC.  We need to swap some jungle or sea stories.

To my fellow warrior, first dozen rounds of cold San Magoo is on me, OK?

MAY THEY ALL REST IN PEACE

Hope I'm invited - I'll get the second round!

As for us Canadians?  We hold ours in November...  The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month...   The day and time the Armistice came into effect to officially end WW I.  Yes, I know, the fighting did continue for several more months before the Peace Treaty was signed but the official date of ending is still November.

As Lyno said, all are welcome that wish honour those that have and are currently serving and of course those that made the ultimate sacrifice.  Chances are I'll be in Subic on the 25th, I know a couple of expats there, Aussie and American, that I'll be able to raise a glass with.  Once I have the details I'll post it here.  And yes Jake, I'd love catch up - if for no other reason than to tell you the tales masturbating monkey and horny elephant incidents; much better told in person lol.  Ironically the main perpetrator of the former is now the Warrant Officer of the Navy - Who says people don't change!
