Mike S Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 thus a man would not be able to "stand proudly and wave the flag", so to speak. Well now I will let any young .... good looking ...... female scientist run her flag up my "humph" ..... flag pole any day she wants if she thinks that the Saw Palmetto will make it stay horizontal ..... she might just be (pleasantly) surprised .... :mocking: :mocking: :cheersty:
Bruce Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Will somebody tell me what good taking all those meds did for me? Provided financial security for many people you will never meet who were in some way connected to the medications from manufacturing and marketing and on and on. And they are all appalled that you are off your meds! They have kids in college and car payments too! As the good it did for you, well you are supposed to be happy you were a a small part of the bigger picture in helping support your fellow humans. Just what do you think would happen to Wall Street and big pharma if everyone started to come off their meds?
jpbago Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 By the way, if you Google Saw Palmetto and read the ones that are submitted my most health-related agencies, they will still say that Saw Palmetto is bad for you... But look to see who is sponsoring these sites and all you ever find are, yes, the pharmaceutical companies. The ones that aren't sponsored? They all say it is beneficial. Don't believe me? Big pharma says that it is bad for you so they can sell meds and make money. Vitamin/supplement companies say that it is good for you so they can sell it and make money. Pharmacies sell them both so they can make money. The colleges/universities, where all of these people study, get donations from big pharma who in turn, sits on the board and has a say in the curriculum, to make money. So who are you going to believe? The best bet may be the notches on Mike S's bedpost.

I take 6 of those horse pills (capsules) each day along with Tamsulosin (Flomax). I have type II diabetes and enlarged prostate so I've been on meds for the last several years. It would seem like I'm urinating more freely and more fully but I think it's too early to evaluate the pros and cons of Palmetto. At least it's not affecting my libido or sex drive. But I still need zero gravity to get it up to the 3 o'clock position.....he, he. No problem....there are always a thousand other positions to play with. I'm surprised no one has suggested the vitamin-supplement called: Brown sugar

I'm surprised no one has suggested the vitamin-supplement called: Brown sugar Hey Jake! Here's one you can try for your diabetes... When I was looking up different studies on natural health methods for the heart, I kept running across this one for type 2 diabetes... 5 to 6 grams of Cinnamon 1/2 an hour before eating could lower blood sugar levels around 60%. I just can't remember if that is every meal or once a day. I doubt you would OD on the Cinnamon though and I hear it tastes best with a little brown sugar - just the way you like it! :mocking:

And thank you for the friendly warning about over dosing. Often times the vitamin-supplement brown sugar has given me some problems. Adventurer Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 this thread reminds me as a young 20+ lad flatting, we would buy a burger most nights for dinner or cook lentils for a change but it was all OK as it was all washed down with a gallon of sherry and a VITAMIN pill for the health part :)

Bruce Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) often responds to daily doses of Zinc and Selenum. Cheap and well tolerated. Very popular before the money making machines found saw palmetto and realized that they can make money off of it and then cranked up the media reports. If I had a choice (and I do), I would take the zinc and selenum before the saw palmetto. Even for you Jake, yes we are talking about your prostrate (prostate for the rest of us)
