Bruce Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) This is off the dailymail.co.uk . My concern is that they openly refer to dating between White men and Asian women as 'Yellow Fever'. Question: Is it then acceptable to refer to White men dating Black women as 'Jungle Fever' as per several 1970's songs? Use the link to read more. Will Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I didn't follow the link, I didn't have to: . "The allure of 'yellow fever': New documentary explores why so many white American men aspire to marry Asian women" That's all I needed to read... I find it offensive and racist!
bootleultras Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) Totally agree gents, why the term Yellow Fever could not be construed as a racist comment but anything close to remarking on a black persons heritage would create an uproar is beyond me. It is rude and degrading and an insult towards me(us) & our partners. Watching the short clip of the documentary does show that the guy was/is desperate and throwing himself to the lions with the way he persued marrying an asian, i mean not even being able to converse with 'the women of your dreams' is a fine way to start a life together.........and to top it off, its a report from an english newspaper, and whats the reason I don't want to go back home again? Tukaram (Tim) Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Back home we used "jungle fever". I guess it may be racist and offensive, but I got it from my black friends. They said I had "Asian fever" - it never bothered me :tiphat:
Popular Post samatm Posted May 7, 2013 Popular Post Posted May 7, 2013 LOL Old topic Samuel Snead Wrote in 1830 in his Home Letters Written from India: "those who have lived with a native woman for any length of time never marry a European.... so amusingly playful, so anxious to oblige and please (are they), that a person after being accustomed to their society shrinks from the idea of encountering the whims or yielding to the fancies of an Englishwoman"
